![]() History of Us Ueda Iwaminokami, the first generation of butsugonji, is the direct line of Sasaki-Kyogoku Family, and one of the immediate followers of Honganji. After serving Shakunyo-Syounin's journey, directed northern area from old capital Kyoto and after the Zuizenji Temple built by the Imperial Order, he protected Zuisenji as a leader of Samrai. In the end of Muromachi era, the whole country was fiercely forested by the warring country Daimyo, but Zuisenji only seeked to stable Hokuriku area society as a major hub of Joudo-Shinsyu (Sect of Buddhism). Numerous letters from Takeda Shingen, Hatakeyama Yoshituna and others remaining in temple tell the era of disturbance. Although Zuisenji was destroyed by Sassa Narimasa, Zuisenji got a chance pf reconstruction following the order of Kanpaku Hidetsugu(nephew of famous Daimyo, Toyotomi Hideyoshi),at that time Ueda Iwaminokami built Butsugonji in the land of Fujibashi. |
